MIRRORING CURIOSITY
In 1991, having recently emigrated to Macau, I embarked on a memorable journey through China. Following a classic route, I traveled from Macau through Canton to Yangshuo and finally to Beijing. Surprisingly, my presence intrigued the locals as much as their world fascinated me.
The curious glances were unmistakable. Throughout the trip, I encountered individuals eager to be photographed, often greeting me with generous smiles and warm gestures. When I reached Beijing, the mutual curiosity persisted. My camera became a bridge, offering me a window into their lives.
